Gremlins is being rebooted?

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Stop me if you’ve heard this one– there’s a rumor going around that maybe, just maybe, GREMLINS is on the chopping block for a reboot. Before you get excited and/or pissed, take this one with a grain of salt– it’s from the same folks who reported Zach Snyder’s STAR WARS/SEVEN SAMURAI mash-up earlier this week. Still, they’ve been right in the past, so we should probably give them the benefit of the doubt.

According to the article, Warner Bros is in negotiations with Amblin Entertainment to reboot the franchise. The only catch? Convincing Spielberg to actually sign on to it. The producer has always been a holdout on remakes like this, but sources say things just might come together this time around.

The question is– how do you guys feel about another GREMLINS? As much as I love the sequel, a return to the first film’s black comedy carnage would be more than welcome. Then again, I have a hard time imagining another remake/sequel can really improve on the previous films. Though I’d certainly be down if Joe Dante and the original cast returned. Anyway, I could prattle on for days about a proposed GREMLINS 3, so why not talkback with your thoughts below instead?
