Another film that we’re keenly awaiting is director Franck Khalfoun’s remake of 1980’s Joseph Spinell-starring MANIAC. A few months back we hit you with the very NSFW international trailer to the Elijah Wood-starring remake and since then we’ve been waiting on pins and needles for more from this creepy-looking film.
The fine folks over at Empire got thier hands on a brand new poster for MANIAC, which we have for you below, filled with Cosmopolis-style neon colours and ENTER THE VOID-styled typefaces. It’s a visually-arresting one sheet featuring Mr. Wood and his ‘friends’ – the mannequin’s that adorn his characters shop. Check it out below.
Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.
The remake, directed by Khalfoun (P2) and produced by Alexandre Aja and Grégory Levasseur, also stars America Olivo, Nora Arnezeder, Liane Balaban, Sammi Rotibi, Megan Duffy and Jan Broberg.
