A&E gives series order to Chloe Sevigny-starring Those Who Kill

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

A&E is finalizing a deal for a series order for the serial-killer based pilot “Those Who Kill,” starring Chloë Sevigny and James D’Arcy, which Joe Carnahan directed from a script by Glen Morgan, according to Deadline.

The project, from Imagine Television and Fox 21, is an adaptation of a Danish crime series based on the books by Elsebeth Egholm and revolves around…

police detective Catherine Jensen (Sevigny) and forensic profiler Thomas Schaffer (D’Arcy), who possess a deep understanding of the serial killers they hunt.

Morgan (“The X-Files,” “Millennium,” Final Destination), Carnahan (Narc, The Grey), Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo, Peter Bose, and Jonas Allen executive produce.

With the success of A&E’s “Bates Motel”, as well as other serial-killer themed programs such as NBC’s upcoming “Hannibal”, it seems that A&E is counting on genre fare and the publics fascination with darker elements to draw in viewers. It seems that “Those Who Kill” is certainly on the right path to draw some interest with the big names attached both in front of and behind the camera. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this one as it certainly sounds promising.
