Dark Skies invades home video in May

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Scott Stewart’s DARK SKIES opened two months ago to surprisingly decent reviews, but an unenthusiastic box office reception; the flick grossed just $17 million here in the states. And while that’s not too bad after a reported budget of only $3.5 million, there’s little doubt that Blumhouse Productions and Dimension Films were hoping for a bigger impact.

DARK SKIES will get its second chance on home video next month; it has just been announced that the film will debut on DVD and Blu-ray on May 28th. Special features will include the feature commentary with Writer/Director Scott Stewart, Producer Jason Blum, Executive Producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Editor Peter Gvozdas. Additionally the disc will offer alternate and deleted scenes from the film.

DARK SKIES stars Keri Russell and Josh Hamilton as a young couple with children living in the suburbs. As husband and wife, Daniel (Hamilton) and Lacy Barrett (Russell) witness an escalating series of disturbing events involving their family, their safe and peaceful home quickly unravels. When it becomes clear that the Barrett family is being targeted by an unimaginably terrifying and deadly force, Daniel and Lucy take matters in their own hands to solve the mystery of what is after their family.
