IFC acquired HAUNT back in September and is gearing up for its world premiere at Film Society of Lincoln Center tomorrow, so with that we've got a couple of new still to take a look at. Mac Carter’s atmospheric debut feature is an unusually character-driven haunted-house film that isn’t afraid to take the action outside. I love the haunted house genre despite the many terrible films it has seen over the years. When a good one comes around, like James Wan's THE CONJURING, it shows just how powerful a haunted house flick can be. We'll have to wait and see how HAUNT turns out, but for now it looks pretty solid and it's certainly worth keeping your eyes on. Below you'll find a couple of new stills, one of which will give you a reason to keep the lights on tonight—that's one creepy bitch!
A family of five moves into a beautiful, sprawling dream home. One problem: it’s cursed, having caused the deaths of the previous family to occupy it, leaving only one survivor (Jacki Weaver). The moody 18-year-old son and his mysterious new neighbor/girlfriend inadvertently awaken something in the house while also violently shaking the many skeletons in the many closets.
The son is played by Harrison Gilbertson and Liana Liberato’s character is the girlfriend next door. Haunt was written by Andrew Barrer and directed by Mac Carter. As far as the screening goes, if you're around the Francesca Beale Theater in New York City then you can catch a screening of HAUNT tomorrow, Wednesday, November 6th at 9:00pm.
