Schwarzenegger compares Terminator: Genesis with Terminator 2

Hot on the heels of the news that J.K. Simmons is circling a possible role in Alan Taylor's TERMINATOR: GENESIS is some encouraging words from the big man himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who tells Collider, "The way it reads, it has the same feel of Terminator 2. It’s big. There’s hardcore action and it has some really great visual effects in there, but not over the top. It’s not a Thor type of movie, even though it’s the same director. It has good special effects, but just enough to say, “Wow, where did that come from? How did they do that?” That's what was so great about T2 and a big part of why that film still holds up quite well today, so hopefully what he says here holds true.

It's exciting stuff to see Schwarzenegger back for another TERMINATOR film and it will be interesting to see how the writers bring his iconic character back to life with GENESIS. In the interview Schwarzenegger also says that they will start shooting the film at the end of April in New Orleans so we could potentially be seeing some very cool stuff from TERMINATOR: GENESIS in the near future!

Also starring is Emilia Clarke who will play Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor and Jai Courtney will take on Kyle Reese while Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the Terminator. It is currently eyeing a July 1, 2015 release.
