The film originally known as ALMANAC and later retitled (and promoted as) WELCOME TO YESTERDAY has undergone yet another title change and may finally see a release…in 2015. This according to Box Office Mojo who sent out the following tweet:
'Welcome to Yesterday' has been retitled 'Project Almanac' and is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters in January 2015. #CinemaCon

Yep, WELCOME TO YESTERDAY is now titled PROJECT ALMANAC and is tentatively scheduled to finally hit in January 2015 after being bumped from release back in February. The reason for the delay in the release was to refine the marketing for the movie which was testing strongly, fueling hopes that the movie could be bigger than intially thought. The film, which was originally scheduled to hit theaters earlier this year on February 28, had been bumped from that date as the studio mulleds a new release date during the summer or fall, but have apparently decided that an early 2015 release will give them time to properly market the film. Seems like an awfully long wait, especially considering the buzz the first trailer for the film generated.
Paramount will partner with fellow Viacom banner MTV Films on the film, using the MTV connection to reach the teen and the college demographic, the pic's core audience and give it a better push.
The directorial debut of Dean Israelite, the film was written by Jason Pagan and Andrew Stark and stars Amy Landecker, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Ginny Gardner, Jonny Weston, Sir Maejor, Patrick Johnson, Gary Grubbs, Allen Evangelista, Anthony Reynolds, and Alexandra Bartee.
A group of friends discover classified military technical plans which they put together to build a device for jumping through time.
So if you were patiently waiting for WELCOME TO YESTERDAY to finally hit cinemas, it appears your wait has been extended. We'll keep ya updated on the newly titled PROJECT ALMANAC as we hear it.
