Universal Cable Productions options Ian Rogers’ The House on Ashley Avenue

Are you ready for more haunted house terrors on the small screen? Universal Cable Productions have teamed up with Vertigo Entertainment and producer Roy Lee (THE DEPARTED, THE RING, "Bates Motel") to option TV rights to author Ian Rogers' 2012 horror short story "The House on Ashley Avenue", according to Deadline.

Rogers' highly acclaimed tale, which was first published as part of Rogers’ short story collection "Every House Is Haunted" and was nominated for the Shirley Jackson Award, tracks the exploits of…

…the Mereville Group, an insurance agency that deals in supernatural investigations and has in its possession a group of haunted buildings so dangerous their existence must be kept from the public. One of said houses sits on Ashley Avenue. There’s a reason the house on Ashley Avenue isn’t on the real estate market. Two paranormal investigators are about to find out why.

Universal/Vertigo/Lee optioned TV rights to "The House On Ashley Avenue" with Lee and John Middleton set to executive produce with Adam Stone, President of Production overseeing for Vertigo. Rogers is aboard as a consultant on the project, and Ellen Datlow is co-producer.

Sounds like it could be a creepy and fun made-for-TV film (or possibly even a series!). More on "The House of Ashley Avenue" as we hear it.
