Patti LaBelle?!?
'Tis true! According to TV Line, Grammy Hall of Famer Patti LaBelle is indeed set to join Freak Show, the third season of horror anthology American Horror Story. Makes sense I suppose, last season featured equally legendary singer Stevie Nicks. Still, Patti motherf*ckin LaBelle!?
Word is LaBelle — who will not sing on the series — will play a local townie who begins to unravel the deadly secrets of Twisty the clown killer and the mother of Gabourey Sidibe's character.
LaBelle joins impressive season 3 newcomers Michael Chiklis, John Carroll Lynch, Wes Bently and Finn Wittrock. They in turn join series regulars Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Gabourey Sidibe, Evan Peters and others.
In perhaps the best storyline yet, here's the logline for AHS: Freak Show:
Set in Jupiter, Florida in 1950, Jessica Lange plays a German ex-pat who in charge of managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S.
