Not surprisingly, comics continue to be a great source for new films and now we've learned that another vampire-themed comic is set to get the big screen treatment as Black List writer Will Simmons has been tapped to adapt Boom! Studios vampire comic DAY MEN for Universal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Boom!’s editor-in-chief Matt Gagnon created the comic and co-wrote the comic with Michael Alan Nelson. Brian Stelfreeze illustrates the series.
DAY MEN focuses on the humans who protect and take care of the affairs of vampires as they sleep during the day. And it takes the genre one step further by separating vampires into Mafia-like families who quietly vie for control over territories. The story focuses on one Day Man who finds himself a key player when war breaking between the families.
Boom! founder and CEO Ross Richie is producing alongside the company’s president of development Stephen Christy.
DAY MEN sounds like a unique take on vampire lore and should make for an interesting and fun flick. We'll keep you updated on this one as we hear it!
