Inspired by an actual incident, Simon Rumley’s THE LAST WORD focuses on convicted killer Johnny Garrett (pictured above), who was executed for the October 31, 1981 rape and murder of 76-year-old nun, Tadea Benz. Professing his innocence until the very end, Garrett reportedly cursed those who sent him to his doom. Wouldn’t you know it, those damned by Garrett started dying mysteriously… at least, that’s what happens in Rumley’s film.
Starring Erin Cummings, Sean Patrick Flanery, Devin Bonnée, Sue Rock and Mike Doyle, THE LAST WORD should be coming out sometime in 2015; we’ve got the poster for it below.
Official synopsis:
A convicted man is executed for his crimes, but not before cursing those who sent him to his death. Soon enough, the people involved in the case, from witnesses to jurors, begin dying. When one juror’s son’s life is threatened, the man sets out to prove that the wrong person was convicted and reverse the curse.
