I've been able to forgive M. Night Shyamalan's lesser lauded efforts because this is the guy who brought us THE SIXTH SENSE and the fantastic UNBREAKABLE. I've always felt he had a few more solid stories left in him that had the potential to be as memorable as his earlier films and that's why I'm very much looking forward to THE VISIT, which Universal will release on September 11, 2015. Now Shyamalan has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on a new script he's in the process of writing as well as his concerns as to how the audience will react to elements of THE VISIT.
Shymalan shares that he's deep into writing his next thriller, which he claims is scary just to write, sharing…
So odd writing a film before the previous one hasn't come out. #TheVisit comes out in Sept, and I'm 75pgs into a new small scary thriller.

It's so scary to write. To sit down and try to hear characters. With all the insecurities of your life screaming louder than them at first.

I've always felt Shymalan was a creative guy with a vivid imagination, so it'll be interesting to learn more about his current script.
He also goes on to share a little bit of his concerns about THE VISIT, sharing…
I keep thinking about the comedy in #TheVisit. Will people dig it? Should I put more or less in this one? Already I'm screwed.

A little bit of comedy to alleviate the tension in a thriller/horror is acceptable. I'm just hoping he didn't go overboard with it for THE VISIT. As for THE VISIT, that film focuses on…
…a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip. Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day.
Universal will release THE VISIT on September 11, 2015. The film stars Kathryn Hahn, Ed Oxenbould, Erica Lynne Marszalek, Peter McRobbie, Olivia DeJonge, Deanna Dunagan, Benjamin Kanes, Jon Douglas Rainey, Brian Gildea, Shawn Gonzalez, Richard Barlow, Steve Annan, and Michael Mariano.
