It isn't a rarity in the horror genre for an actor to become known for only one role, but Mark Patton of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY'S REVENGE certainly picked a doozy. The zany, homoerotic undertones of the film combine with its daring special effects to create a truly indelible cult classic that it's incredible to believe was created by human beings.
Following the film, Patton took a few small roles, but soon dropped off the Hollywood map after facing homophobia from producers of a show in which he was cast. But now he's back and better than ever, debuting a new documentary entitled SCREAM, QUEEN! as well as a saucy new poster, shown below.
SCREAM, QUEEN! is a new, feature-length documentary examining the homo-erotic themes of Nightmare On Elm Street 2.
Nancy Thompson, Kristen Parker, and Alice Johnson — All heroines, sometimes tragic but nonetheless important to the NOES series. What about Jesse Walsh? Unlike his female counterparts, Jesse's life, his fate, and his battle with the ever-persistent dream killer, Fred Krueger, were left unanswered at the conclusion of NOES2.
So, what happened? What does Jesse represent to generations of GLBT horror fans? And what does his dismissal from the series mean to those people?
SCREAM, QUEEN! will release next year in 2016.
