Yesterday morning, we assembled a batch of the behind-the-scenes pictures Rob Zombie has shared on his Facebook page while going through the post-production process on his latest movie, 31, which
follows five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large secret compound known as Murder World. Once there, they have 12 hours to survive a terrifying game called 31 in which “The Heads” – murderous maniacs dressed as clowns – are released to hunt them down and kill them.
Proving that he has no intention of cutting his fans and followers off any time soon, Zombie has already posted another BTS image from the film, this one featuring Richard Brake as the character known as Doom-Head.
Doom-Head was also the focus of the first image we ever saw from the set of the film, and it turns out that Zombie feels he has something very special in store for audiences with this character, saying:
DOOM-HEAD (aka Richard Brake) does not f*ck around. This guy is one f*cking intense dude.
I predict that he is the next great villian of horror.
Actor Richard Brake has dabbled in the horror genre on multiple occasions, in movies like DEATH MACHINE, HANNIBAL RISING, and OUTPOST, among others. He was in the cinematic adaptation of the video game DOOM, a role unrelated to Doom-Head, and previously worked with Zombie on HALLOWEEN II, in which he played an ill-fated coroner with an unhealthy interest in female corpses.
Will Brake's Doom-Head be a hit with genre fans? Here's hoping it won't be much longer before we find out. The North American distribution rights for 31 are in the hands of Alchemy, but a release date has not yet been announced.
Brake's co-stars in 31 include Malcolm McDowell, Sheri Moon Zombie, Meg Foster, Judy Geeson, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Jane Carr, Ginger Lynn, Daniel Roebuck, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Pancho Moler, Tracy Walter, E.G. Daily, Torsten Voges, David Ury, Lew Temple, Bari Suzuki, and Devin Sidell.
