John Goodman, Thomas Mann join Kong: Skull Island

Kong, this is not ‘Nam, there are rules.

The cast of KONG: SKULL ISLAND has grown – considerably – with the addition of John Goodman, who today has officially climbed aboard the Jordan Vogt-Roberts adventure film. Goodman joins Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell in the film, while Samuel L. Jackson and John C. Reilly are rumored to be in the cast as well.

UPDATE: We just learned that Thomas Mann (PROJECT X, HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS) has joined the cast as well. It sounds like he’ll be part of the expedition team.

According to Deadline, Goodman will play Randa, a government official who leads an expedition. Furthermore, the site expands on the plot a little, saying it focuses on a man (Hiddleston) who travels to the mythical island and home of the king of the apes. A team of explorers venture inside what they find to be a treacherous island.

Granted, it doesn’t take a genius to assume that’s what KONG will be about.

Warner Bros. will distribute the Legendary Pictures production on March 10, 2017. As you may have heard, this is but a prologue to an epic KING KONG VS. GODZILLA smackdown in the works at the studio. That film, should it actually come to fruition, is at least five years away.
