Even though it's already felt like a decade since PROMETHEUS came out, it has only been a matter of three years. The real time jump will take place in the sequel, ALIEN: COVENANT, itself. According to costume designer Janty Yates in an interview with Collider, the film will take place, “10 years in the future beyond Prometheus."
She continued, “[It’s] not so much of a spacesuit movie. There are two different spacesuits in it. We are only carrying on one look from Prometheus, which is with David." If the spacesuits are being chucked, maybe that means there's a better chance the film will be returning to the close quarters chills of the actual ALIEN franchise, which this film is confusingly trying to re-insert itself into. Check out the video interview below!
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
ALIEN: COVENANT, also starring Noomi Rapace and Katherine Waterston, comes out October 6th, 2017.
