So far for THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR, we've seen a lot of scare sequences, but this new clip shows off a new side of the film. It's a creepy scene that relies on atmosphere and sound design rather than a nasty jolt, and it's all the better for it. It's not like this particular clip is THE WITCH-level tense, but it certainly gives me hope that the film will be more than an endless string of solid but forgettable thrills. Check it out for yourself below!
A family lives an idyllic existence abroad until a tragic accident takes the life of their young son. The inconsolable mother learns of an ancient ritual that will bring him back to say a final goodbye. She travels to an ancient temple, where a door serves as a mysterious portal between two worlds. But when she disobeys a sacred warning to never open that door, she upsets the balance between life and death.
Johannes Roberts directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Ernest Riera. It stars The Walking Dead's Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeremy Sisto, and Javier Botet (the unforgettable Niña Medeiros from the [REC] franchise). Peek on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR in theaters March 4th.
