Fox announces cast and premiere date for Wayward Pines season 2

Executive produced by M. Night Shyamalan and based on a trilogy of novels by Blake Crouch, Fox's Wayward Pines was the number one scripted series on broadcast television last summer, so it's no surprise that it will be returning to the airwaves for a second season this summer. Fox has now announced exactly when viewers will be able to return to Wayward Pines: the first episode of season two's ten episode run will premiere on Wednesday, May 25th at 9pm EST.

Fox also confirmed several members of the cast, many of whom are returning from the first season. The actors bringing the odd story of the titular town to the screen include Jason Patric, Djimon Hounsou, Hope Davis, Tom Stevens, Nimrat Kaur, Josh Helman, Kacey Rohl, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Melissa Leo, Tim Griffin, Shannyn Sossamon, and Charlie Tahan.

Season two picks up 

after the shocking events of Season One, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. THEO YEDLIN (Patric) – a new resident of Wayward Pines – awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.

If you, like me, missed out on the first season of Wayward Pines, you now have until May 25th to get caught up if you want to dive into season two as it airs.
