John Carpenter's Lost Themes II feels like something that we dreamed up. Who could have possibly thought that not only would we get an entire album of Carpenter music, but that another would be on its heels? And that he'd be touring? We're truly living in a lucky time.
Without further ado, allow me to introduce the newest track from the album, "Angel's Asylum." A reference to the comic series Carpenter created with his wife Sandy King, he says the song has "has a driving rock sound and is more reminiscent of my later work. We initially started writing it for the comic book and we liked it so much we decided to put it on the album."
His description is (rightly accurate). "Angel's Asylum" is certainly from a different period of his career than, say, the synth-fueled HALLOWEEN theme, but it's still a stellar piece that feels like it could be the opening credits of a Jim Henson horror movie. Check it out below!
