The really interesting thing about the found footage subgenre is that it provides opportunities for filmmakers who wouldn't otherwise have the resources to helm a traditional feature. One of those people is Jay Chapman, who is known for producing and directing comedy specials, including BO BURNHAM: WHAT. and AZIZ ANSARI: BURIED ALIVE.
His new film, 8989 REDSTONE, is a haunted house flick that he certainly wouldn't have been allowed to make with studio backing, because if there's any industry that likes to put people in boxes, it's Hollywood. Check out the trailer below and see if it's up your alley!
There's no official synopsis yet, but the film is about Daryl and Rebecca Masters, a father-daughter team who have a house-refurbishing reality show called Mastering Disaster. They head to Detroit to fix up 8989 Redstone, but the house seems to have something dark lurking in the shadows.
8989 REDSTONE was written by Ian Roumain and stars Eric Allan Kramer, Lindsay Bushman, Anthony 'Citric' Campos.
