The trailer we shared at the end of June for PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 and 4 directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman's new horror film VIRAL warned us, and a newly released clip confirms it: the movie does indeed contain teen partying.
"Teen partying" is listed alongside "disturbing violent content" and "some language, including sexual references" as part of the reason why VIRAL is rated R, and while the clip doesn't feature the language part, it does show us a teen party getting crashed by a worm flu-infected maniac who provides a glimpse of that disturbing violent content.
Written by Christopher Landon and Barbara Marshall, VIRAL tells the following story:
Teenaged sisters Emma and Stacey live a normal life, until their small suburban neighborhood is stricken with a mysterious parasitic virus. As the disease rapidly spreads throughout the town, the two band together to barricade themselves from infection. But it may already to be too late – when the virus enters their home, the sisters are faced with an impossible choice: protect each other, or survive the virus.
Sofia Black-D Elia and Analeigh Tipton star as the sisters.
Check out the clip below and see if VIRAL looks like a movie you'd like to experience when it hits VOD on July 29th.
