Ghostbusters 2016 gets new subtitle, home video release this October

The reboot of GHOSTBUSTERS has come and gone, and so has its controversy, thank goodness. The film will be released on VOD September 27th with a DVD and Blu-Ray release to follow on October 11th. It will also be available on 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack if you've got cash to burn.

But here's the weird thing. For its home video release, the film will have a subtitle added to it, making it GHOSTBUSTERS: ANSWER THE CALL. Perhaps they're trying to separate themselves from the bad buzz they got for rebooting the material, but that's not exactly hiding anything. It's a weird choice, to be sure. But hey, it's better than LIVE DIE REPEAT, am I right?

In the reboot: 

Paranormal researcher Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) and physicist Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig) are trying to prove that ghosts exist in modern society. When strange apparitions appear in Manhattan, Gilbert and Yates turn to engineer Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon) for help. Also joining the team is Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), a lifelong New Yorker who knows the city inside and out. Armed with proton packs and plenty of attitude, the four women prepare for an epic battle as more than 1,000 mischievous ghouls descend on Times Square.

GHOSTBUSTERS also stars Chris Hemsworth, Neil Casey, Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, Pat Kiernan, Cecily Strong, and Charles Dance.

It will features from the original Ghostbusters as well as Annie Potts, Sigourney Weaver, and Ozzy Osbourne, not to mention Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
