More than twenty years ago, producers made the controversial decision not to bring HALLOWEEN 4 and 5 star Danielle Harris back for the sixth film in the franchise, HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS, even though the script written by Daniel Farrands did feature her character Jamie Lloyd. A couple decades later, Harris finally brings a character written by Farrands to the screen in the haunted apartment film HAVENHURST.
Scripted by Farrands and director Andrew C. Erin, HAVENHURST pairs Harris with SAW V / RAMBO's Julie Benz (pictured above) to tell the following story:
Welcome to Havenhurst, a gothic apartment complex in the heart of New York City’s historic Tudor City district. A beautifully maintained, turn-of-the-century building that houses over 3,000 residents… and countless dark secrets. The rent is what you can afford and the rules are simple: live a good and decent life and you can stay forever. Break the rules and…
JACKIE (Benz), a troubled young woman with an unyielding alcohol addiction, is released from rehab and given a second chance with a new job and a furnished apartment at Havenhurst. Guilt-ridden over the tragic loss of her 8-year-old daughter, Jackie is quickly drawn into the mysteries of Havenhurst, in particular the unsolved disappearance of the apartment’s previous occupant, a young woman (Harris) she befriended in rehab who disappeared recently without a trace. Aided by a hardened New York police detective (Josh Stamberg) and a lonely foster child (Belle Shouse) who lives under the shadow of her caretakers’ sadistic whims, Jackie must not only battle her inner demons… but the very real ones that live deep within the walls of Havenhurst.
In addition to the actors listed above, the film also stars Fionnula Flannagan, Toby Huss, Matt Lasky, and Douglas Tait (who played Jason Voorhees in the final scene of FREDDY VS. JASON).
HAVENHURST is set to hit VOD on February 10th, and in the build-up to that release we have an EXCLUSIVE poster for the film to share with you. The poster can be seen below and has a very cool, classic thriller look to it.
If HAVENHURST sounds like a film you would like to watch, you'll have your chance in just a few weeks.
