Just minutes ago, The Arrow posted part 1 of his report from the set of director Ridley Scott's upcoming PROMETHEUS sequel / ALIEN prequel ALIEN: COVENANT. To read his report CLICK HERE.
While my hype level for COVENANT rises in response to what Arrow had to say, I wanted to bring some more attention to a couple images featured in that article, a pair of brand new pictures from the film that have a very dark and creepy feel to them.
The new images can be seen below. First we have a shadowy figure walking down a hallway on the alien planet where the events of ALIEN: COVENANT occur. It's a moody shot of a place I would not want to be in.
Next up is a shot of heroine Katherine Waterston, standing in a wheat field alone, calling out. Looking for someone who has been lost? Calling for help? The situation isn't looking good, and given the likelihood that there are Xenomorphs running around in that field, I wouldn't want to be in her shoes any more than I'd want to be that person walking down the dark hallway.
Written by Michael Green, Jack Paglen, and John Logan, ALIEN: COVENANT has the following synopsis:
The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
Waterston's co-stars include Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, James Franco, Noomi Rapace, and possibly Guy Pearce.
The film is set to reach theatres on May 19th. That's when we'll find out exactly what's going on in these two pictures.
