A few days ago we brought you the news that Stephen king had seen THE DARK TOWER film and said it was "Terrific". Today we bring you the first poster for the film, which you can peep in several different versions below.
This poster reminds me of the INCEPTION poster. Not a bad thing, just sayin'. Anyhow, If you flip the poster you can catch a better glimpse of Matthew McConaughey's The Man in Black, along with a few other baddies stalking through the streets.
No worries, I flipped the image for you below.
Also it's worth noting, as imgur user vnJWan3 (that you, James Wan? I'm kidding) found out, if you flip the poster AND turn it black and white, you can make out the shape of The Dark Tower itself in the poster's negative space.
Do you think it's really the Dark Tower? Meh. Maybe. I'll leave that up to you decide, depending on which illustration of the Dark Tower you subscribe to. Pretty cool nonetheless.
THE DARK TOWER film synopsis:
Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor) is a young 11-year-old adventure seeker who discovers clues about another dimension called Mid-World. Upon following the mystery, he is spirited away to Mid-World where he encounters the lone frontiersman knight Roland Deschain (Idris Elba) who is on a quest to reach the "Dark Tower" that resides in End-World and reach the nexus point between time and space that he hopes will save Mid-World from extinction. But with various monsters and a vicious sorcerer named Walter Padick (Matthew McConaughey) hot on their trail, the unlikely duo find that their quest may be difficult to complete.
THE DARK TOWER is directed by Nikolaj Arcel and stars Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Taylor, Fran Kranz, Jackie Earle Haley, Katheryn Winnick, and Abbey Lee (see below).
The film hits July 28th.
