Deep Rising coming to 4K Blu-ray!

This August, Kino Lorber Studio Classics will be releasing the 90's monster movie classic DEEP RISING on DVD and Blu-ray. The 20th Anniversary Special Edition Blu-ray is restored from a 4K Scan of the original camera negative and comes with newly commissioned reversible Blu-ray art by Jacob Phillips and limited edition O-Card slipcase (see below).

The film stars Treat Williams, Famke Janssen, Anthony Heald, Kevin J. O’Connor, Wes Studi, Jason Flemyng, Cliff Curtis, Clifton Powell and Djimon Hounsou and is written and directed by Stephen Sommers. It takes place on:

A newly unveiled ocean liner, the Argonautica sets out on its first cruise, only to encounter dangers both on board and in the ocean depths. While the beautiful thief Trillian (Famke Janssen) attempts to steal riches from the boat's wealthy passengers, the ship encounters major problems, most notably a giant murderous sea creature with tentacles. Eventually, a boat captained by John Finnegan (Treat Williams) comes across the Argonautica, and everyone struggles to survive the monster.

I have a (no pun intended) deep love for this film. I saw it as a kid back in the 90's and loved how surprisingly brutal it was for a movie directed by the guy who made (at that time) the live-action remake of THE JUNGLE BOOK. I know that I will definitely be snagging this on Blu-ray. Hell, the special features listed above are reason enough to triple dip the film for my collection. How about you?
