As many of you know by this point, I'm a big fan of MTV's SCREAM: THE TV SERIES. And whenever I get the chance to report on SCREAM alumni (even the behind-the-scenes talent) it's always a good day in my eyes. Especially when the news also regards Blumhouse.
And today's news is about former SCREAM: THE TV SERIES staff writer Brian Sieve, and his new horror drama CUL-DE-SAC. The series is in development with Blumhouse Television and Universal Television, along with NBC, and evidently, there is a branding idea in the works for an upcoming Blumhouse event series, which will be going by the name "Blumhouse Presents." And CUL-DE-SAC may be the first installment.
Written and co-executive produced by Sieve, CUL-DE-SAC is a serialized drama about:
three families living in a suburban cul-de-sac who begin to experience terrifying events and come to realize there’s something sinister invading their perfect middle-class dream.
Larysa Kondracki (THE FIX) is set to direct the potential pilot and executive produce. Kondracki has also helmed episodes of Amazon's upcoming PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK limited series along with credits which include LEGION, GOTHAM, and BETTER CALL SAUL.
Like I said, whatever this project ends up being, I'm there. After all, Sieve was also worked on MTV's TEEN WOLF in the past and his film CADAVER will be released later this year by Screen Gems. Add in Blumhouse and I don't need to know anything further. How about you?
