One of the upcoming horror movies I'm looking forward to checking out the most is director Tory Jones' slasher flick, ANGEL. The film aims to bring a new classic slasher villain to the screen – but with a female twist. The movie will be hosting its world premiere on Saturday, July 21st at the Historic Lyric Theatre in Lexington Kentucky before being release wide later this year.
And today we have the film's new trailer!
Again, I'm all for this flick as one thing the horror/slasher subgenre is severely missing is an iconic female slasher. Sure we have Angela from SLEEPAWAY CAMP and Mary Lou from PROM NIGHT 2, but a badass masked female super-slasher is just what the doctor ordered… back in the early 80's.
Shawn Burkett (DON'T F*CK IN THE WOODS) serves as a producer on the project along with PJ Starks (VOLUMES OF BLOOD) and the movie begins when:
After his daughter goes missing, a wealthy contractor hires a group of investigative journalists to probe into an abandoned town with hopes of uncovering clues to her disappearance. While digging into the town’s jaded history, the group uncover a sinister secret and come face to face with the town’s dark past in the form of a figure known as Angel.
This atmospheric thriller is being produced and directed by Tory Jones (THE WICKED ONE) from a story and screenplay penned by himself and Cheyenne Gordon and stars Sonya Delormier, Cameryn Zupon, Dale Miller, and Jessica Bloom as Angel. Check out the new trailer below along with the poster! After that, make sure to check out the film's official Facebook page right HERE.
