Quentin Tarantino & Chloe Grace Moretz praise Suspiria remake

This November we will all finally get to lay our eyes (for better or worse) on director Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming remake of director Dario Argento's technicolor horror classic SUSPIRIA. While some of you may still be on the fence regarding whether or not to give this new version the benefit of the doubt, today we have news that might change your opinion.

None other than Quentin Tarantino has given Guadagnino's remake his blessing. The remake's director recently spoke with the Italian publication La Repubblica and revealed he showed his adaptation to Tarantino last fall and Tarantino evidently had a super f*cking strong emotional reaction.

Luca Guadagnino:

I showed it to Quentin Tarantino. We’ve been friends since our jury duty at the Venice Film Festival. I was nervous but eager to hear his advice. We saw it at his place and his reaction warmed me. He was enthusiastic about it, in the end, he was crying and hugged me. Because it’s a horror movie but also a melodrama, my goal was to make you look at the horror without being able to take [your eyes off the screen] because you’re captivated by the characters. Amazon is very happy.

And if that wasn't enough praise for the remake for you guys, then you might be interested to know that co-star Chloë Grace Moretz has also gone on record recently saying that the film is like "modern Stanley Kubrick."

Chloë Grace Moretz:

This is a really big statement, but this is the closest to modern Stanley Kubrick I‘ve ever seen. You’re put into a world, which I can only describe it as being like The Shining in a lot of ways, where you’re just encompassed in a filmmaker’s brain and you’re just implanted in there, and there’s nothing like it that you will ever see.
