AMERICAN HORROR STORY creator Ryan Murphy has already confirmed that Jessica Lange, Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, and Stevie Nicks would be reprising their roles from AHS: COVEN in the upcoming season, AHS: APOCALYPSE. And today we have word via The Wrap that Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott will be back as well.
For those you may have forgotten, Britton played Vivan Harmon in the first season of the series AHS: MURDER HOUSE. Evan Peters' ghost character raped poor Vivian back at the house of murder and thus created the antichrist – if that makes sense. McDermott played her cheating-ass husband who got everything that was coming to him.
I'm glad to hear that Britton and McDermott are back for more AMERICAN HORROR STORY as this means that the rest of the Harmon family can't be far behind. Again, this is all part of my utter fascination on just how Murphy and his team plan to handle the fact that Taissa Farmiga plays two roles within this season. I know other characters do as well, but it's only Farmiga's characters that intrigue me on how they'll handle it. I guess we'll see next month!
American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has said the new season is
very high concept. It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode five."
Executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall adds,
The story begins with the end of the world, and then our world begins."
Also in the cast of this season's cast are Cody Fern, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Kyle Allen, and Joan Collins. AHS: APOCALYPSE is set to premiere on FX on Wednesday, September 12th.
