Director Adam Reider's WOODLAND GREY, an elevated horror film that's being produced by Franky Films (Producers Francesco Giannini and Tamara Dupuis) and Arrow in the Head founder John Fallon, is heading into a mid-October production start in Montreal, Canada. What better time could there be to film a horror movie than during the Halloween season?
Written by Reider and Jesse Toufexis, WOODLAND GREY stars Jenny Raven, who recently appeared in the FLATLINERS remake (pictured above) and the Amazon series Jack Ryan; Ryan Blakely, who played Reverend Mike on Orphan Black; and Art Hindle, whose association with horror goes back to the original BLACK CHRISTMAS. The film will tell the following tale:
When an older man living alone in the woods saves the life of a young woman, they are forced to coexist. Chaos ensues when the woman makes a terrifying discovery in the woods behind the man's cabin and unleashes something truly haunting.
Francesco Giannini and Tamara Dupuis are producing alongside Fallon.
Reider discussed how he's approaching this intriguing material:
Woodland Grey is a story that is as haunting as it is beautiful. For me, it’s all about the slow burn where the story slowly draws you in until you are fully immersed in this world. There’s a lot of moving pieces in this film but the payoff is gonna be so great when they all come together.”
Giannini and Dupuis added:
We are about to embark on a challenging yet exciting journey. And with the talented cast and crew that we have put together, we are confident that 'Woodland Grey' will be all that it should be. It has been two years in the making, with enormous efforts, emotions, highs and lows, it has come together very quickly in the last month and we are ready to make this great script come to life! Look for it on the Festival circuit in 2019!"
