St. Agatha Darren Lynn Bousman

A few months ago, we learned that director Darren Lynn Bousman's female-driven psychological horror film ST. AGATHA had been picked up for distribution in North America by Uncork'd Entertainment. A trailer has now arrived online to promote the Uncork'd release of the film, which is only a couple more months away.

Written by Andy Demetrio, Shaun Fletcher, Sara Sometti Michaels, and Clint Sears, ST. AGATHA is set in small-town Georgia in the 1950s. The story centers on

a pregnant con woman named Agatha, who is on the run and seeks refuge in a convent. What first starts out as the perfect place to have a child turns into a dark lair where silence is forced, ghastly secrets are masked, and every bit of willpower Agatha has is tested as she learns the sick and twisted truth of the convent and the odd people that lurk inside its halls.

Sabrina Kern, Carolyn Hennesy, Courtney Halverson, Trin Miller, Seth Michaels, Lindsay Seim, and Hannah Fierman star.

Uncork'd will be giving ST. AGATHA a theatrical, VOD, and Digital HD release on February 8th. Judging by the trailer, this appears to be a creepy and disturbing new entry in the nunsploitation sub-genre. I look forward to checking it out.
