Thrill me! New Night of the Creeps Blu-ray comes with Tom Atkins figure

One of my favorite 80's horror-comedies out there is writer-director Fred Dekker's killer-slug zombie movie NIGHT OF THE CREEPS starring Tom "Thrill Me" Atkins. And if you're as much of a fan of the film as this guy, then you'll be thrilled as hell to hear that Scream Factory is a new Blu-ray head our way this May. Better yet, the release comes with an exclusive, limited edition 8” tall Detective Tom Atkins action figure created by NECA!

The Tom Atkins doll is an exclusive website only offer and is limited to 3,000. Even cooler still is the fact that the doll has been officially approved by Mr. Atkins himself! As far as the Blu-ray itself, this will be presented as a Collector’s Edition and will come guaranteed with a slipcover in its first three months of release. The front-facing cover will be the iconic “zombie rose” art that many remember fondly from its initial VHS release.

The reverse cover will feature a theatrical poster design (Students with flamethrowers as zombies approach). Extras and final specs are in progress and will be announced on a later date. All extras from the prior U.S. Blu-ray release will be ported over and new extras are underway.

Here's the movie's simple synopsis:

Alien brain parasites, entering humans through the mouth, turn their host into a killing zombie. Some teenagers start to fight against them.

NIGHT OF THE CREEPS was written and directed by Fred Dekker (THE MONSTER SQUAD) and produced by Charles Gordon. The movie featured Jason Lively, Steve Marshall, Jill Whitlow, and Tom Atkins. NIGHT OF THE CREEPS hits Blu-ray (again) via Scream Factory on May 28th.
