J.K. Rowling recently announced very surreptitiously on her official site that the release date for the seventh and final installment in her obscenely popular “Harry Potter” franchise, titled “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, will be July 21st of this year. Fans had speculated that the book would perhaps be released on July 7th as an homage to the book’s place in the series or on July 31st (Potter’s birthday) and it seems their guesses weren’t too far off. The book will retail for $34.99 which, at five dollars higher than the previous installment “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”, suggests this one may be the longest of all (which makes sense considering there’s apparently a lot to wrap up). In the meantime, the fifth cinematic installment, HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF PHOENIX, opens July 13th, thereby making July “Official Harry Potter Month”.
