Maybe we’ve been hitting the booze a little too hard these days but we had no idea Vince Vaughn decided to round up a group of unknown comedians, pack them all in a bus, tour with them across the US playing shows and film the whole goddamn thing for a documentary titled VINCE VAUGHN’S WILD WEST COMEDY SHOW: 30 DAYS AND 30 NIGHTS – HOLLYWOOD TO THE HEARTLAND. Our ignorance and that ridiculously long title aside, the film was bought by The Weinstein Co. at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it premiered, earlier this year but they apparently had a change of heart, put the film back up for sale and now Picturehouse and New Line International have nabbed the international rights. Picturehouse plans to release the film domestically in early 2008 with New Line handling international distribution. If anyone out there who’s seen the film can confirm whether Vaughn does any actual stand-up in the film (and not just manage), that’d be aces. And if he does spit jokes on stage, has the guy got game or what? Vaughn can next be seen in more traditional cinematic comedy in FRED CLAUS.
Vaughn does stand-up?
