Lovely Bones lead cast

After a lengthy search Peter Jackson has found his lead character for the upcoming DreamWorks adaptation of THE LOVELY BONES. Irish actress Saoirse Ronan will star as Susie Salmon, the young girl who is murdered and whose ghost watches over the ensuing events. Ronan joins the previously cast Rachel Weisz and Ryan Gosling in the film. You might not know Ronan yet but she’s got THE CITY OF EMBERS with Bill Murray in the works as we speak so she could very well be on her way to stardom. She can be seen next playing alongside Keira Knightley in ATONEMENT. Jackson wrote the adaptation of Alice Sebold’s best seller with Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh and recently set the project up at DreamWorks. Filming on BONES is set to begin this fall in Pennsylvania and New Zealand.
