Brace yourselves, people, DreamWorks is done with the SHREK franchise. Take a second to let that one sink in. No more ogres with perplexing Scottish brogues going on adventures that jam pack as much pop culture references as possible. Of course, they’re not throwing in the towel until after the fifth installment. We still have two more pop culture filled ogre adventures to come! Yay! According to DreamWorks spokesman Rich Sullivan, “The story itself has five chapters. Based on the success of the first three films, at the very least, the next one, ‘Shrek 4,’ is warranted.” Really, because it seems like the story only had one chapter that made a buttload of money so you added another chapter and that made a shit-ton of money so you added another chapter and so forth. Who knows why their choosing to let go of this insane cash cow after the fifth installment when they could clearly be pumping these bad boys out until the end of time but I guess they are. Or maybe they’re not. Maybe they’re just saying they are to make even more money. Whoa, those evil geniuses!
Shrek 5 is last one?
