Steven Spielberg wasn’t even going to wait for the next INDIANA JONES movie to hit theatres before he started on his next project, but now he may have to. The director was set to start work on THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 (title likely to change—CHICAGO, maybe?) this April. But now production has been delayed due to some needed rewrites on Aaron Sorkin’s script, which had to wait until now because of the writer’s strike.
The film is based on the true story of the trial of the notorious protesters at the 1968 Democratic convention. Sacha Baron Cohen is in talks to play icon and protestor Abbie Hoffman. Apparently this project was the most advanced of all of Spielberg’s projects, but because of the delays he may move on to something else, like his much-talked about Lincoln biopic, starring Liam Neeson.
