What better way to start the week than with remake news, right? MGM is apparently toying with the idea of remaking John Milus’ 1984 classic RED DAWN because, well, that’s just what studios do these days. The original, which starred Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, C. Thomas Howell and Harry Dean Stanton, centered on a group of high school students turned guerrilla soldiers calling themselves “Wolverines” battling Soviet forces at the onset of a fictitious World War III. No word on who they plan to write the screenplay or direct or how closely plan to stick to the original but if you’re a fan of the original, don’t exactly expect to be blown away by the remake.
