After tickling his funny bone in Judd Apatow’s upcoming comedy FUNNY PEOPLE, Eric Bana will return to kicking some ass in the upcoming action flick ARMORED. The film is a remake of the 2004 French film LA CONVOYEUR with a new script by David Ayer (TRAINING DAY) and Andrew Kevin Walker (SEVEN). ARMORED follows a mysterious man who takes a job at an armored truck company who has his own hidden agenda. The film is described as a “heist drama” so you would expect at some point there is a heist in the movie, but there also seems to be some twistyness to the end (I haven’t seen the film but all the reviews I’ve read hint at some kind of mystery). F. Gary Gray (BE COOL, THE ITALIAN JOB) will direct for Millennium Films. The Americanized remake was name-changed to ARMORED despite the fact that another film named ARMORED is already in production (starring Matt Dillon and Laurence Fishburne) and this project will, again, have to change its name. As it stands, the film is scheduled to begin on April 1st but that may conflict with Bana’s promotional duties for STAR TREK and the start date may get pushed back. Bana can be seen next alongside Rachel McAdams in THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE.
