Latest Basterds poster

These character teaser posters for INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS have been an odd bunch of marketing. Besides the first, which had the tagline “Brad Pitt is a Basterd,” the rest have highlighted names that probably aren’t very well known outside of the fanboy community.

The latest poster shows highlights Shoshana, played by Melanie Laurent in the film. She’s really one of the leads of the film, as big a part as Pitt’s Aldo Raine, but to date you have seen much of her in the marketing material as they’ve focused it more on Pitt and his Basterds. The poster is a tad misleading in that Shoshana actually isn’t one of the Basterds. But whatever… I think this poster would work better without the tagline but that’s just me (and I assume these posters are also meant for Cannes where Laurent is a much bigger star than she is stateside).
