“Spawn” creator Todd McFarlane has been talking up a SPAWN revamp for some time now but now he seems to be getting pretty ambitious with casting the main character who, interestingly, isn’t the tortured one-time Hell resident. He recently told MTV, “The main character isn’t Spawn, per se, it’s the guy chasing Spawn. And I’ve always had [Leonardo] DiCaprio in the back of my mind.” Um, and how the hell did you make that leap there, McFarly? “…his dad was a big fan of underground comic books and he came from that. It’s not a big special-effects movie, it’s a character movie, so I could shoot it in 40-50 days and you don’t have to budget that much time.” Sure, DiCaprio may have expressed a passing interest in comic books and/or comic book movies before but signing on to a Spawn movie? Probably not gonna happen. Read more about what McFarlane had to say about the film over HERE.
