Moneyball no more

Brad Pitt, Steven Soderbergh Just a few days ago, we told you about Sony shutting down production on MONEYBALL, the Steven Soderbergh directed and Brad Pitt starring biopic on Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane, who built a winning team with cheap players. Sony head Amy Pascal apparently pulled the plug when the latest draft of the script Soderbergh turned in deviated significantly from Steven Zaillian’s original. Just how different? The LAT recently elaborated on some of these changes and it’s easy to see why Pascal got nervous. Soderbergh got hellbent on being as realistic as possible and basically reworked the script into a meta-documentary. What’s more, the NYT has chimed in saying that the movie is basically over – all studios have passed and Pitt has already moved on to other projects. Click through to read the details of both. They’re both pretty interesting and not too long a read.
