Robert Rodriguez confirms Predators 2, but knows he should do Sin City 2 first

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I enjoyed the shit out of PREDATORS.

Well, it looks like a sequel is on its way according to Robert Rodriguez. This is what the director told IGN, “[The studio] said, ‘Let’s do some other ones. What other story ideas do you have? Because it was like, let’s test out the market with this one. They really wanted it to be pretty contained, pretty scaled-back. They didn’t want to put too many of the ideas into it that we could save for a second one. So we could see what the appetite was, because the bigger movie would actually be what comes following that. That kind of sets up a new storyline, new location and world, and then you can really go crazy from there.”

He added that he has “an idea” of what the sequel will be. The next step for him is hearing ideas from other writers, of course expanding on the premise that he created. Basically, it’s a “whoever has the best new ideas” wins scenario.

But will he direct the sequel? “I don’t know,” he laughs. “I think I have too many people wanting me to do Sin City 2 first!” Damn right!

As for the title of the next PREDATORS film, he said he has no idea yet what they will call it.
