I’ve heard from some people who’ve seen the film and they’ve told me that FOOTLOOSE is actually not that bad. I happen to think it looks mostly terrible. But the new trailer for the film is online and while I’m not exactly sure it changes my opinion on the film wholesale, I will say it’s an impeccably cut piece of marketing.

I could give two craps about this FOOTLOOSE movie but that this trailer had me convinced at the end I might actually want to see it, is a testament to its genius. It tells the story without going through the familiar beats most trailers fall victim to. But a sharply edited trailer does not a good movie make. Is there enough between the swagger of a sweaty girl’s hips and the coifed ‘do of the Kevin Bacon stand-in to make you want to see this?
