New War Horse trailer features actor testimonials

Perhaps Dreamworks is a bit worried that the message of WAR HORSE isn’t quite making it through the trailers, or maybe the cast just really loves the movie. Whatever the case, this new two minute TV spot has the cast of the film explaining why exactly WAR HORSE is such a powerful film.

It’s an interesting tactic, and one it’s hard to remember seeing in a real trailer, as opposed to a behind the scenes look or something. Watch it for yourself and see if you think it’s effective.

It is Spielberg, so the film will likely do pretty well, but on first glance it does seem like a rather odd framing for a war film and regular patrons might be a bit suspect. Perhaps this testimonial trailer will change that.
