Interview: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy star Gary Oldman!

There are very few actors that deserve respect and admiration more than Gary Oldman. He is one of the most gifted talents working today. He may be best known lately from blockbusters like HARRY POTTER or THE DARK KNIGHT but it is refreshing to see him take on a character like George Smiley in TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY. He brings a sense of honesty and humanity into this world of spies.

With TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY, Gary is working with the famed director of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, Tomas Alfredson. Along with an amazing cast, Oldman continues to give another great performance. Will he finally get an Academy Award? Only time will tell, yet I’m betting he has one hell of a shot this year.

When I sat down with him while he was promoting SPY, we talked about the character and the just how detailed it was bringing Smiley to life. As great of an actor he is, there is no denying that he is also very down to earth so to speak, and of course he is very charming. While it was much too short, it was a thrill to speak with the incredible Gary Oldman.
