Cast announced for Hell & Back, an R-rated stop motion flick

There aren’t nearly enough animated films for adults, but I can’t really think of any stop-motion animated films for adults. Does MARY AND MAX count?

But have no fear- ShadowMachine Films (“Robot Chicken”) is creating a feature comedy called HELL & BACK, about two friends who have to rescue their buddy when he’s accidentally dragged to hell. The R-rated film is set to start shooting in January.

Deadline is reporting today that Nick Swardson (“Reno 911!”, BUCKY LARSON) and TJ Miller (“Hud” from CLOVERFIELD) have been cast in the film. Tommy Gianas (TENACIOUS D) and Ross Shuman will direct and Alexander Bulkley and Corey Campodonico of ShadowMachine will produce.

ShadowMachine is looking to make more features after its incredible success with “Robot Chicken” and “Morel Orel”, so let’s hope this is the beginning of a trend.
