Christian Bale! You get Out Of The Furnace!

Christian Bale is in talks to star in GET OUT OF THE FURNACE. How he got in the furnace, we’ll never know.

The film’s said to be a throwback to the 1970s revenge flicks, a story of a man who serves four years in prison before returning home hoping to live a peaceful like. There’s just one thing- he’s got to find the man who brutally murdered his younger brother and deal with him, like you do. Scott Cooper (CRAZY HEART) will direct the mayhem.

The spec script for GET OUT OF THE FURNACE has been around since 2008 and a bunch of actors and directors have shown interest in it over the years, including Ridley Scott and Mark Wahlberg. Just last year the project almost came together with Bale starring and Rupert Sanders (SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN) directing, but Bale had to drop out due to scheduling issues.

Robert Duvall is reportedly being considered for a part, although no deals have been made. If all goes well they’ll shoot the film in the spring before Bale starts shooting Terrance Malick’s KNIGHT OF CUPS and starts doing press for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
