Look out, Comic Con! It’s Godzilla!

Gojira, or Godzilla as he is known to American audiences, was the unfortunate victim of an awful 1998 remake. Since then he has still had success in Japanese films while here in the States we waited for the GODZILLA movie we truly deserve.

The busy folks over at Latino Review have learned that not only is the long in development reboot from Legendary Pictures and director Gareth Edwards (MONSTERS) moving forward but the Thunder Lizard himself will be making a very special appearance at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con!

Legendary Pictures was already going to have a significant presentation for Guillermo Del Toro’s PACIFIC RIM and now looks to be doubling down on the big monsters. Latino Review did not get into specifics regarding what the presentation would be, only hinting that it would involve both video and audio.

GODZILLA is a franchise that should have been a slam dunk for an Americanized remake, but Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich fumbled the ball by making the monster a glorified dinosaur. Plus casting Matthew Broderick in the lead role did not help matters. Here is hoping the screenplay by David Goyer and Max Borenstein brings back the monster to his iconic glory.
